Find a Health and Business Coach to find a better way!

As a business and health coach, I work with business owners and those people looking to improve their health, life and lifestyle on a daily basis. Because of this, I’m always looking for a better way.

However, I’m not someone who is always chasing the easier way. As human beings, we are designed to look for the path of least resistance. But we need to be careful not to fall into the traps of ease.

We need to be careful with chasing the latest hack, the easy win, the thing that makes us feel good in the moment.

And yes, in the short term it often does makes us feel good. We get a short-lived dopamine hit or quick result. But mostly, it does not last.

We do short term things like that cheeky takeaway meal for the first second…. O.K… Third time this week.

Or the story you just keep telling yourself that how you feel is because you are “just getting older”.

Or that afternoon cup of coffee just to get through to the end of the day?

I’m not judging! I do these things too. I’ll tell you my most recent one…

I’ve been recovering from a shoulder injury since Christmas and although it is 80% better I’ve been telling myself that I “Just need to give myself another week” before I start to exercise again.

Another week.

Then another.

And so, I/we repeat the same process.

Again and again.

And again.

It’s as demoralising as it is predictable.

Something to think about…

‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.’ – Albert Einstein.

Isn’t that the truth?

There is no easy option.

You can’t outsource the press-ups.

And yet.

The part of our brain called the amygdala just keeps on saying… what if I can find an easier way?

There is no easier way BUT there is a better way!

Start small.
And start building each day.

Play the long game.

It pays off.

For me, that means putting a kettlebell by my desk that I literally have to step over to leave.

Of course, I don’t step over it. I pick it up.

I do a few squats.

Or curls.

Or raises.

Nothing hectic, just a start.

A step in the right direction.

That’s all it takes.

Doing the right things step by step.

Over time it compounds

Your success by doing small things again and again is inevitable!
